QUICKSILVER GROUP CHRISTMAS CHARITY APPEAL A HUGE SUCCESS

Quicksilver Group Charity Appeal 2007

Cairns, 14 December 2007: Four local charities have received a huge boost from the annual Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal, thanks to the generosity of the region’s tourism industry.

Representative from the charities, St Vincent de Paul, Lifeline, The Salvation Army and the Douglas Shire Community were on hand to receive the mountain of donations today.

In its 4th year, The Quicksilver Group’s annual Christmas Appeal is a way for the tourism community to all give something to those needing a little extra help this Christmas.

“This is by far our most successful year with support from over 120 local tourism companies. We are very touched by the wonderful and generous donations from tour desks, Mountains of Donationsaccommodation places and their staff over the past few weeks,” said Megan Bell, Quicksilver Group Director of Marketing.

“We’d also like to make special mention of Tourism Tropical North Queensland who very generously donated this year in place of distributing Christmas cards.”

“Each year the charities give us direction on what food and gift items are most needed and in place of usual agent gifts, we spread funds across these requirements.

The Quicksilver Group sales team had a very busy time collecting the donations from Cairns to Port Douglas, with something for everyone, from babies to grandparents.

With sincere thanks to everyone who contributed, the Quicksilver Group team wish all a very joyous and safe Christmas.
