Students Marvel at Green Island’s Beauty
Cairns, 20 December 2006
Students and teachers from Gordonvale State High School recently took a trip to Green Island that they will never forget. From cruising from Cairns to Green Island on Great Adventures fast catamaran to playing on Queensland’s Cleanest Beach and then the experience of helmet diving with Seawalker, this was more than just another day in paradise for everyone.
"The students had a great day,” said Kevin Kuhle, physical education teacher and organizer of the excursion. “It was a really good opportunity for them to bond. A few of the students had never been snorkelling, and Seawalker was definitely a once in a life time for some of these students."

Along with a day of fun in the sun and sea, teachers and students toured the island to discuss its ecological significance to Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef and the indigenous people of Australia, in particular our local Yarrabah community.”
"It was great to see the town of Yarrabah from the Great Adventures catamaran,” commented the students. “It would be great to bring more kids from Yarrabah out here too"
