Mike has been involved in the Queensland Tourism industry for over 40 years and is committed to all facets of the industry from staff development to participating on a variety of tourism and marine operators boards. 

Mike has always been passionate about the industry and has always given freely of his time and knowledge to ensure the growth and development of tourism across the State.

Tourism Minister Margaret Keech said, “ Special congratulations must go to Mike Burgess, who has spent more than 40 years working in tourism and has made an enormous and an exceptional contribution to the industry.
