The Quicksilver Groups 3rd annual
Christmas
gift appeal is underway . |
December 7th, 2006 Cairns:
The Quicksilver Group of Companies is running it’s third annual Christmas gifts appeal. Traditionally, the company recognizes the efforts of the region’s tour desk staff with thank-you gifts, however due to the success of past 2 years they are asking their supporters to again join them in donating items urgently needed by local charities. Megan Bell, Director of Marketing, says the Quicksilver sales team is currently visiting tour desks asking for their support in this worthwhile endeavour.
“It’s a way we can all give something to those needing a little extra help this Christmas,” said Ms. Bell. “We’ve done our research through four charities; St. Vincent’s, Lifeline, The Salvos and also the Douglas Shire Community. These charities have each given us direction in the most needed food and gift items they require this year, and in place of our usual agent gifts, we’ve decided to spread our Christmas tour desk funds across these requirements. We are also requesting that tour desks and their staff support this charity drive.”

items are urgently needed |
Quicksilver Group of Companies has distributed a flyer detailing what is urgently needed to all the region’s tour desks. Welcome food contributions include tinned ham, tinned vegetables, tinned fruits, lollies, chips, soft drinks, peanut better and vegemite. To top-up the toy gap, charities have requested toys suitable for ages 0-16, adult toiletries and gifts, as well as wrapping paper.
Any donations by the Cairns or Douglas Shire community would also be welcomed.
The crew from Quicksilver will be around to collect the donations from Friday, 8 December.
