Santa leaps for Christmas Charity
Santa made a special appearance today, arriving early from the Great Barrier Reef on board his unique reef sleigh to launch the annual Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal.
Santa, along with some SES helpers, skilfully abseiled down Great Adventures’ Reef Prince catamaran in Trinity Inlet.
Now in its 6th year, the Quicksilver Group co-ordinates this tourism driven appeal and also donates funds to buy gifts and food items for those in need in our community through assisting the local charities of St Vincents, Lifeline, The Salvation Army and the Douglas Community.
“It has been a tough year for many people in this region and we are hoping the tourism industry, our local suppliers and the general community will join us in this rewarding endeavour,” said Megan Bell, Quicksilver Group’s Group Media Manager.
Our charities are seeking food contributions including tin ham, vegetables, fruit as well as vegemite, peanut butter, chips and other little treats. They have also requested toys suitable for ages 0 – 16 years, adult toiletries and gifts as well as wrapping paper.
It’s a way we can all give something to those needing a little extra help this Christmas. If anyone would like to donate, please call our office and a company representative will arrange to collect donations. Quicksilver Group Office: 4052 7855
The Quicksilver Group would like to thank the Cairns SES (State Emergency Service) for their generous assistance in helping to launch the appeal.
