We are looking for a:


A rare permanent full time position for someone who is hard working and reliable. We currently have an opportunity for a Trade Assistant to join our Engineering Department based in Port Douglas. This role will primarily be based working with our shipwright, but will involve assistance across other trades.  

The responsibilities primarily include the maintenance of the Quicksilver fleet of Vessels, Pontoons, and land based assets.  Example of works undertaken are:

  • Carpentry and joinery of the internal and external surfaces of boats and pontoons
  • Surface preparations, painting and fibre glassing
  • General maintenance 
  • Building maintenance of some land based assets

The successful applicant should have experience in construction and boats/shipwright maintenance, be a self-motivated person who works well within a team, has attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised and will be required to hold the following qualifications:

  • Senior First Aid
  • Construction industry white card (or willing to get)
  • Experience with carpentry/ joinery / shipwright type work / maintenance work, will be highly regarded

An attractive roster is offered including a four on, three day off, weekday only roster. However, from time to time, overtime, overnight and weekend work may be required. We would be able to provide further training for the right person.
