Year of the Tiger Welcomed

Happy New Year and 'Gong Xi Fa Cai'!

The “Year of the Tiger” and Chinese New Year was warmly welcomed by Great Adventures with the arrival of several charter flights into Cairns from Guangzhou Southern China and Beijing. This year was also the third anniversary of the first ever direct charter flight into Cairns with leading Chinese travel company GZL International Travel Services.

With picture perfect weather, many of our Chinese visitors took the opportunity to experience the Great Barrier Reef aboard Great Adventures’ outer reef and Green Island cruises.

Celebrating the third anniversary charter flights in Cairns, GZL hosted a gala dinner with Great Adventures and other major Cairns attractions – Seawalker Green Island, Skyrail, Rydges, COTA and Rainforestation.

In January 2007, the Quicksilver Group, in conjunction with GZL, opened the first Great Barrier Reef branded retail shop in the southern China province of Guangzhou. Since then, GZL have promoted our Cairns and Great Barrier Reef region with sophisticated touring programs, resulting in these successful charters.

A further ten retail travel shops have been branded in China from Guangzhou to Shanghai and Beijing with leading Chinese agents through the collaborative support of TTNQ, TQ, Hot Air, Blazing Saddles, Kuranda Scenic Rail, Skyrail, Scuba Doo, Seawalker Green Island, Rydges Hotel Group and the Quicksilver Group.
