Pontoon Caretaker
Great Adventures is part of the multi-awarded Quicksilver Group an operates a wide range of eco-tourism based cruises to the Great Barrier Reef including Great Adventures Reef and Green Island Cruises, SilverSwift Dive and Snorkel Adventures, Ocean Spirit, Michaelmas Cay Sailing Cruises and Seawalker Green Island.
We operate a modern fleet of five touring vessels, two outer reef platforms (pontoons) and dive services including dive operations of Green Island.
The Marine Operations Department of Great Adventures is seeking an enthusiastic permanent part time Pontoon Caretaker to become part of the team. The successful applicant will need to be hard working, have a commitment to teamwork and have a high standard of customer service.
Duties and responsibilites include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and security of the pontoon
- Driving of coral viewing vessels (Semi-Sub)
- Providing commentary and education about the reef and its inhabitants
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Essential requirements:
- Open Coxswains ticket
- Current Provide First Aid & CPR
- RSA
Applicants must also be willing to live in an isolated area. This role incldues weekend work and a rotating roster will apply.
