As the world’s most extensive coral reef ecosystem, the Great Barrier Reef is a globally outstanding and significant natural wonder, Quicksilver have been bringing guests here and creating memories since 1979 and to continue we need someone to help us keep them safe, that’s where YOU come in. We are looking for a:

SENIOR LIFEGUARD 

A permanent position is available for an enthusiastic, safety consciousness and friendly Senior Lifeguard to join the team in Port Douglas. Day to day responsibilities include: setting up the boats for daily use, interacting with customers on the way to the Reef, looking after the wellbeing of the customers whilst they are snorkelling and training new lifeguards. Weekend work will apply.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum qualification Rescue Diver or Bronze Medallion
  • Provide First Aid/HLTAID009/011/015  
  • Previous experience in training and leadership 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, efficient, comfortable and enjoyable snorkelling environment for Quicksilver’s passengers 
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate lifeguard training and assessments 
  • Provide medical emergency lifesaving service 
  • Enhance Quicksilver's passengers' experience 
  • Manage lifeguard workplace performance 
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction 
  • Maintain the highest level of passenger welfare 
  • Facilitate the efficient movement of Quicksilver passengers
  • Contribute to a team effort 
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Quicksilver vessels 
  • Maintain operational efficiency 
  • Maintain equipment in the highest order 
  • Maintain fitness levels 
  • Ensure a safe workplace is maintained for employees and visitors 
  • Maintain a workplace free from sexual harassment, discrimination and bullying and meeting all privacy requirements 
  • Monitor condition of all snorkelling equipment and buoyancy aids
  • Assist in maintaining vessel based First Aid / Life Saving equipment
