The Douglas Shire Community, Salvation Army Cairns and St Vincent de Paul Cairns are all recipients of this year’s donations from the Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal.
The Appeal first began in 2004 in the spirit of helping make this time of year a bit brighter for less fortunate members of our community. With support from local suppliers, industry colleagues and the company’s 490 strong staff, around $6000 of food and gifts has been donated for the charities to distribute directly to families and individuals in need.
“It has been, and still is a very challenging time for many people and businesses in our region and the charities are in need more than ever. We hope this will make a difference to many in our community,” said Tony Baker, Quicksilver Group Managing Director.
Major Ben Johnson of the Salvation Army said, “The donations from this Appeal will greatly assist many people who are struggling, to experience a more joyful Christmas, feel valued and celebrate along with the rest of our community.”
Sincere thanks to all who contributed and helped with our 2023 Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal. We’d like to give special thanks to the following:
And a very Merry Christmas to one and all.
