Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal
Sincere thanks to all of our industry colleagues, local tour desks, suppliers and community members who have helped to make our annual Quicksilver Group Christmas Charity Appeal once again a huge success. Now in its 6th year, Quicksilver Group co-ordinates this tourism driven appeal and also donates funds to buy gifts and food items for those in need in our community through assisting the local charities of St Vincents, Lifeline, The Salvation Army and the Douglas Community.
The moustache certainly made a comeback at the Quicksilver Group in November as this picture attests. There was the “trucker” style the “business man” and “freestyle” to name a few outstanding hairy efforts. Fortunately, most of them have now also been dealt with a sharp razor! While having a bit of fun, the boys helped raise many hundreds of dollars for men’s health, as well as a successful fundraising night held by Pro Dive Cairns.
Sid Scott is someone that almost all visitors to Green Island will meet during their stay. As Green Island Resort’s resident Activities Officer and accredited Eco Guide, Sid manages the resort’s Activities Program and Guest Education including conducting the daily Fish Feeding Presentation, hosting Sunset Drinks, Stargazing / Astronomy sessions and Guided Night Walk Tours. He is also involved in nature and wildlife monitoring liaising with the island National Parks Ranger.
Sid’s background on Green Island is unique having spent a lot of his life and childhood on Green Island. His family has owned and run the Marineland Melanesia Crocodile Habitat and Aquarium on Green Island since 1972
Post Card to Great Adventures
Hello to Great Adventures
I went on a Green Island Day Tour recently and I would just like to say a huge thank you. The tour was fantastic! I had a few issues, mainly being very scared to snorkel, but I found your tour and information guides very easy-going and friendly and willing to help. They explained everything to me and in the end I enjoyed it so much I actually went on one of the snorkelling tours!
I loved my trip and I will definitely be returning.
Thank you and regards
